Traditional Jewelry
The huichol people and jewelry-making
Huichol art is one of the most traditional art forms in Mexican culture. The Huichol people are an Indigenous group living in the states of Jalisco, Durango and Zacatecas in Mexico.
The Huichol artwork is known for its colorful decoration of beading and sewing using symbols and designs which date back centuries. The Huichol people have a long history of beading; whether it be from clay, shells, seeds etc., and using them to make jewelry or decorations.
Peiote Jewelry has taken on the task to introduce this beautiful art form to our clients.

I'm Viry.
With a passion for my heritage and and a love of making jewelry, I founded Peiote.
Peiote, to me, is the intersection of traditional jewelry-making and modern Peiote designs.
My passion for beading started almost 10 years ago. Ever since, I have been evolving in my designs and craftsmanship. Everything is made with attention to detail, providing a modern twist to traditional Huichol jewelry.
